How did Cameron Boyce die? Disney Actor Died @20 Only
Disney star Cameron Boyce died in his sleep due to a seizure from an ‘ongoing medical condition’.
The 20-year-old actor’s family confirmed the cause of death to ABC news in a statement in the early hours of Sunday morning.
A spokesperson for the family said he had been battling illness: “It is with a profoundly heavy heart that we report that this morning we lost Cameron.
“He passed away in his sleep due to a seizure which was a result of an ongoing medical condition for which he was being treated.’
He grew up in Los Angeles with his mum, dad, and younger sister, and had recently moved into an apartment with friends.
Cameron starred as Cruella de Vil’s son in Disney’s surprise hit movie Descendants and was best known for his role alongside Adam Sandler in Grown Ups.
The heartbreaking statement continued: “The world is now undoubtedly without one of its brightest lights, but his spirit will live on through the kindness and compassion of all who knew and loved him.
“We are utterly heartbroken and ask for privacy during this immensely difficult time as we grieve the loss of our precious son and brother.”
Hundreds of fans have flooded the comments on Cameron’s last post – a black and white head shot – speaking of their disbelief.
Cameron made his acting debut aged just nine when he appeared in horror flick Mirrors and just a couple of years later was cast as one of Adam Sandler’s children in Grown Ups.
The child star also achieved success alongside Debby Ryan as Luke Ross in Disney channel show Jessie, which ran for four series.
A Disney Channel spokesman said in a statement: “From a young age, Cameron Boyce dreamed of sharing his extraordinary artistic talents with the world. As a young man, he was fuelled by a strong desire to make a difference in peoples’ lives through his humanitarian work.
“He was an incredibly talented performer, a remarkably caring and thoughtful person and, above all else, he was a loving and dedicated son, brother, grandson and friend.
“We offer our deepest condolences to his family, cast mates and colleagues and join his many millions of fans in grieving his untimely passing. He will be dearly missed.”
In an interview with Raw, the socially-conscious actor spoke of how close he was with his family and how the best piece of advice his father gave him was to not waste his talent.
In what was a tragically poignant answer to where he saw himself in 15 years time he replied: “Hopefully in a house half as gorgeous as this one. I see myself just trying to be happy.
“A lot of money and stuff like that, while it is good, it’s not important. So whatever it is that makes me happy in that time, that’s what I’ll be doing.”
In recent years, Cameron had dedicated himself to charity work, raising thousands of pounds to build wells for clean drinking water in Swaziland and even introducing presidential hopeful Joe Biden at his Biden Courage Awards in March this year.
He said in an interview with ID magazine back in 2018, that even though he loved what he did there was always a dark side to fame that he had to deal with.
